Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Jake has always been focused on supporting the community. When Jake was 13years old, he joined his community association as a youth rep and is still active on the Executive Team as a member at large. Jake has also been actively involved with his community Waterfront Festival and Heritage Day events as a member on their committees as Logistics Coordinator . Jake has been Chair of the community Winterfest Festival for the past  7 Years. and turned the event into a profitable event in his first year of taking the chair role.

 

Jake as Recently Graduated from Niagara College Canada with a Diploma in Hotel and Restaurant Operations, During his time at NC Jake has continued his community focus by being the Vice Chair, Board of Directors. Niagara College Student Administrative Council. as well as a Student Mentor to New students at the college.

After Graduating from Niagara College Jake started working for Scouts Canada as a Event and Logistics Coordinator on a contract, now he is working for Scouts Canada full time as an Event Administrator, Domestic & International, supporting Scouting Groups on international adventures and Domestic Large scale national events.

Jake is an active member of Scouts Canada and has held various leadership positions including Area Youth Commissioner, marketing and communications, community and internal events, fundraising and revenue development, most recently Jake just finished a 3-year term as the country’s youngest Council Commissioner responsible for program, financial budget and membership onboarding and retention for the Greater Toronto Area.

One of Jake’s passions Is advocating for mental health initiatives and supports in Ontario and was on the Support team for Zack Makes Tracks, a youth who raised money for youth mental health at RVHospital in Barrie Ontario and is a member of the board of directors of a small Advocacy group called Voice for Mental Health .

Jake also advocates for Homeless persons and created the first match donation fundraiser for Haven Toronto, a drop in center for elder homeless men and has recently helped organize their Walktober Fundraiser which surpassed their fundraising goal
